Yesterday I enjoyed some quite time on my balcony, surrounded by my plants and reading newest Taproot magazine. I try to have few moments like that every day and now even more because next week school is ending so my kids will be with me all the time. This year plan for summer vacation is very simple, just go out to parks, beach, playgrounds and swimming pools, go for more picnics, play ball and read outside. What are your plans for this summer?

In my Garden.

My balcony is getting greener with every day. This year I planted: carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, basil, thyme, rosemary, sage, oregano, onions, potato and sweet potato, I also had some kale but it was eaten by caterpillars. Everything is growing great, the weather is sunny and warm with rain here and there. Every morning I spend long time on my balcony just enjoying my garden.

Thank you for visiting and the comments, I really appreciate.

Finally I can relax; I started working outside my home in September with the hope of bringing an extra income. I was so excited for a new adventure, after 9 years at home, meeting new people and just getting out into the world. The best part of it was that it was 10 minutes walk so I didn't have to spend hours in public transit, I could work while my kids were in school and I was the supervisor. The beginning was great and slowly everything went down. The job got really stressful, the manager was impossible to work with and the physical aspect of it got to hard. My house became messy, my little one is so behind in her school work that I don't know if we ever catch up, my sewing business is out of half of my products with no time to sew anything and my blogs: well whoever visits me knows I haven't bin here that often, my work towards simple life almost completely stopped and that's when I realized that the amount of money that I was bringing home was not worth it. After discussion with my family we decided that it was much better when I was home, my husband will focus on working and bringing the income and I will go back to taking care of the home and family. So today is my first day out of work and I feel great, I am ready to get back to homemaking, cleaning, cooking and baking. The biggest upside of me being home is that I can focus on simple life, so here goes take two on simple life in big city. I hope that visitors didn't forget about me and still will visit me and leave some comments and I will try my best to be here often with new pictures and posts.

Time to make more minced garlic, I completely run out of all the garlic I made last time and didn't realized until yesterday when I had to use some.

Oatmeal Muffins.

I came across this great recipe for quick and easy muffins with oatmeal and I had to try it. They came out a little bit dry but really good, so next time I will just add more pumpkin.

Oatmeal Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins
- 1 large egg,
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree,
- 1/2 cup milk,
- 1/3 cup brown sugar,
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (I used my dandelion syrup),
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil,
- 2 tsp of vanilla extract,
- 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice,
- pinch of salt,
- 3 cups old - fashioned whole rolled oats,
- 2 tsp baking powder,
- 3/4 cup semi - sweet mini chocolate chips.

1. preheat oven to 350F. Spray muffin pan with cooking oil or use paper liners.
2. To a large bowl, add first 9 ingredients and whisk to combine.
3. Add the oats, baking powder and stir to combine.
4. Add the chocolate chips and stir to combine.
5. Distribute the batter evenly into your pan and bake for about 23 minutes, let it cool before serving.

It's getting warmer here and the growing season is coming soon, but I couldn't wait any longer so I started indoors with something small. Few green onions and basil seeds.

My older daughter is in all sorts of after school and at the school programs. She loves dance and acting and she is the art representative for her school. Not that long ago she was asked to design a t-shirt for her dance class and this is what she made.
